WHERE SPIRIT, INNOVATION AND THE ENVIRONMENT MEET

In these times of environmental degradation and social and economic angst, we can give way to fear and trembling, or we can get radically inspired to think outside the dots in bold, innovative and playful ways! On GREEN VISIONS: Where Spirit, Innovation and the Environment Meet, we will be exploring ingenious ways of looking at our problems and finding creative solutions to what may appear hopeless, but is actually an opportunity to reframe how we live. We will be addressing such questions as: How can we be more in tune with the ways Nature works? How can we stretch our imaginations and our bodies in new ways? How can we have the most playful fun doing it?

  • This show is about Designing "Home" as if Real People Lived There. My guests are social scientist Clare Cooper-Marcus, and architect Ross Chapin. Both are award-winning visionaries in their fields and with them I will be talking about the livability of our houses, neighborhoods and communities, and how our relationship to the natural environment can keep us sane and healthy.

Clare is professor emerita of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, and Ross practices architecture at his homeplace on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound.
